Italian design celebrated in Berlin
Fratelli Frattini wins the iF Design Award 2023
In the design field, few prizes can compete with the aspired iF Design Award. This year the essence of the Italian design shone in Berlin with Fratelli Frattini conquering the prize with ALINE, single lever basin mixer.
Behind the creation, the vision of the Architect Marco Piva who with mastery has been able to match beauty and functionality in a single product. Marco Piva, known for its exciting and functional signature has a wide range of projects to his credit, ranging from urban masterplans to architecture, from interior to product design. His work, characterized by constant material and technological research, has received numerous awards. Among his recent achievements are the Radisson Collection Hotel, Palazzo Touring Club in Milan, and the complex of Tonino Lamborghini Towers in Chengdu. With ALINE, Piva states its unmistakable imprint on the Italian design scene.
The way towards iF Design Award
ALINE creation represented a discovery innovative and sustainable trip. Cooperation between Marco Piva and Fratelli Frattini R&D team has generated a product combining functionality to aesthetic, durability with easy to use, quality and care of the environment. Manufactured with stainless steel 316L, resistant and recyclable, ALINE distinguish itself for the details and sustainability commitment. These elements along with the top quality of the materials, grant ALINE a prize place between the winners of the 2023 edition, Questi elementi, insieme all'elevata qualità dei materiali, hanno garantito ad ALINE un posto tra i vincitori dell'edizione 2023, standing out among eleven thousand candidates from 56 nations.
The award Gala
On May 15, 2023, Berlin transformed itself into the global design stage. The iF Design Award ceremony took place at the Friedrichstadt-Palast, where the international scene gathered to celebrate the excellence. Electric atmosphere, an exciting mix while the winners were announced one by one.
The appreciation to ALINE represented a point of immense pride for our Italian spirit in an international environment. The expressions of satisfaction and joy were clearly painted on the face of Paolo Bertarelli and Michela Frattini, representatives of the company and of the architect Marco Piva, present at the event. Reflecting on the emotion of the moment Piva said:
"The award represents not only the success of a product but the confirmation of an approach to design that puts human being at the centre. It is a tribute to the commitment to offer solutions that improve the quality of life while respecting the planet"
The iF Design Award 2023 was a moment of celebration, but also a stepping stone towards the future. With eyes fixed on tomorrow, Fratelli Frattini and Marco Piva continue their journey, guided by passion, creativity and research.
